Troop 14 Home - Troop Committee

Troop Committee is an organization of parents who function like a board of directors for the troop. In short, our job is to take some of the administrative burden off the scoutmaster and assistant scoutmasters to allow them to focus on working directly with the boys. The Troop Committee sets the calendar for activities, such as monthly outdoor programs and the spring and fall courts of honor. We monitor the advancement of boys, encourage leaders, are responsible for budgeting and finances, maintain liaison with the Starkville Rotary Club (our chartered organization), communicate with parents through a newsletter and web site, and obtain and maintain troop property. The Troop Committee meets once a month on the third Thursday of each month.
